Role in the project

ADVA SE runs a test lab for the development of WDM-PON. The lab is fully equipped to perform the work which is required with regard to the physical layer. The work has been, and is, focused, with support of several EU and German BMBF projects, on the development of low-cost, tunable-laser-based, wavelength-routed WDM-PON. It is our intention to reuse the related work and experience in the 5G-XHaul project. In this context, it is relevant to note that only WDM technology based on tunable lasers provides a suitable platform for cost-efficient, scalable, high-bandwidth-per-channel, long-reach X-Haul.
